Ceramic coating is a form of paint protection which is engineered with inorganic glass compositions, also known as silicone dioxides (Si02). The ceramic particles bond to your vehicles paint surface on a molecular level in order to a create hard and durable crystallised coat over the paintwork for years to come. By applying a ceramic coating you are keeping your vehicles paint protected from UV rays, chemical stains and etching.

Ceramic coating your vehicle also makes it much easier to clean and maintain as it creates a super hydrophobic paint surface that repels water and dirt. In addition to the protection, it also adds a beautiful, transparent, deep rich gloss to your vehicles paint by enhancing the reflective properties of the clear coat.

Whilst Ceramic coating provides protection and ease of maintenance, it will not protect your car from mechanical damage such as scratches, swirl marks, and rock chips. Proper washing is the key to keeping your ceramic coating from getting swirls or scratches. If any debris or grime is trapped in the wash mitt you are using, it will result in swirling and scratching your coating. It is vital that you maintain your vehicle on a regular basis to ensure the durability and longevity of the ceramic coating.

NEW VEHICLES

Whilst its fair to assume that a brand new vehicle from the showroom floor would be delivered with a defect free paint surface, 90% of the time they still require a Stage 1 Paint correction (Medium Cut & Polish). This is due to imperfections gained through the logistics process of delivering the car to the dealership location.

Often times dealerships themselves can cause paint imperfections by incorrectly washing the car prior to a customer taking delivery. To the untrained eye these imperfections may not be visible.

At Esoteric detailing we analyse the paint surface in a dark room under powerful lighting to reveal its true condition. This enables us to see the paint surface in its truest form so that we can rectify any imperfections prior to coating. This process ensures the paint surface looks exceptional and is perfectly clean prior to ceramic coating for maximum adhesion.

USED VEHICLES

If your vehicle is used, generally speaking you will need a Stage 2 paint correction (High Cut & High Polish) in order to bring the paint to a level in which its ready to coat.

Unfortunately, 90% of the time used cars are washed and dried improperly which causes all sorts of paint imperfections over time. An example of this is using the self serve car wash facilities. As you can imagine, thousands of customers have used the same brush to clean there vehicles exterior, picking up all sorts of contaminants which end up causing swirls, scratches, holograms and other imperfections to your paint.

The Stage 2 Paint correction process will eliminate such defects prior to coating, for maximum paint clarity and ceramic coating adhesion. In the rare event, if your used vehicle has been exceptionally well maintained and has light imperfections, a Stage 1 paint correction may suffice.

NEW VEHICLES

• Petrol cap area cleaned

• Clay bar paint to remove stuck on dirt and debris, creating a smooth paint surface

• Application of iron fallout remover

• Application of tar and bug remover

• Microfiber and forced air dry

• Plastics, rubber trims, and sensitive areas masked off prior to paint correction

• Painted surfaces wiped down using isopropyl alcohol before and after machine polishing to ensure maximum adhesion for the ceramic coating

• Exterior glass cleaned

• Microfiber and forced air dry
